How does G8RSkin perform in the heat?
The G8RSkin features a pocket along the back of the neck for a cooling gel pack, which helps regulate body temperature by cooling high blood flow areas. The antimicrobial material is moisture-wicking. Additionally, the G8RSkin is easily removable when you’re on the sideline for quick cooling.
  • Football: In most cases, it doesn’t change the helmet sizing. Sometimes you may have to remove some air out of the helmet padding for a more comfortable fit. The helmet may feel snug around the G8RSkin during initial fitting, but it will conform to the helmet and provide an optimal fit after a minute. 
  • Hockey/Lacrosse: Depending on the brand and helmet model, you may need to upsize, but this isn’t always necessary. 
  • Skiing/Biking/Equestrian: In most cases, you will need to upsize your helmet.
No, the G8RSkin does not void the warranty of the helmet. Since it is a separate garment that doesn’t alter the helmet in any way, it’s similar to wearing a regular ski mask or cap, which has no effect on helmet warranty. Further, our testing data shows it improves the performance of the helmet by the very standards the helmets are evaluated.

No, the G8RSkin does not limit your range of motion. The device is lightweight and pliable and only stiffens upon impact.

This includes proper wearing of the correct size of G8RSkin™ Shiesty on the head and neck, washing the G8RSkin™ Shiesty in cold water only using a mild detergent without bleach, and air dried. Do not expose the G8RSkin™ Shiesty to temperatures above 120°F or below -25°F.
